Tackling a whole house clearout is intimidating. Without a plan, you'll end up exhausted surrounded by more mess than when you started. Here are our top rules to structurally dominate decluttering.
- The 6-Month Rule: If you haven't used it, worn it, or looked at it in 6 months, it goes. (Seasonal items excluded).
- One Room at a Time: Never start the kitchen while the bedroom is half-finished. Lock in your focus to a 3-square-meter grid.
- The 4-Box Method: Have 4 physical areas ready: Keep, Donate, Trash, and Undecided. Be ruthless.
- Digitize Sentimental Items: Old children's drawings and letters? Take a high-resolution scan and clear the physical paper.
Once you have your "Trash" and "Donate" piles assembled, book an EcoTrash clearance online. Let us do the heavy lifting from your hallway straight to our ethical recycling partners.
